    From tracking pollution generated by Kuwait's oil fires to developing user-friendly data products to helping farmers become more productive, the experts at UND Aerospace are constantly working on new projects to improve the world. UND Aerospace is one of the most technologically-advanced collegiate environments for aerospace education in the world and also includes the Earth Science System Institute. The complex features advanced flight simulators, cockpit procedure trainers, high-altitude chamber for aerospace physiology training, supercomputing, air traffic control simulation, weather forecasting facilities with Doppler radar, sophisticated computing labs, atmospherium and a state-of-the art satellite education center, the AeroSpace Network. At the nearby Grand Forks International Airport, UND Aerospace maintains a modern 165,000 sq. ft. flight training complex. Over 100 aircraft and simulators including 13 different types of aircraft and three types of helicopters comprise one of the largest civilian flight training fleets in North America.
