Trainer bio
Jeffrey A. Finkle
Jeffrey Finkle has served as President and CEO of the International Economic Development Council (formerly CUED) since 1986. Since joining CUED, Mr. Finkle has transformed the Council into the largest economic development membership organization in the nation. He also has engineered CUEDs financial turnaround and significant growth in membership and staff. In addition, Mr. Finkle has led CUEDs efforts in promoting and establishing multi-lateral partnerships among regional and national economic development organizations around the globe. He is considered a national expert in the field of economic development and is often called on by the press, the U.S. government and other institutions on matters of economic development strategy and programming. He is a frequent speaker and trainer at conferences and seminars across the nation. Mr. Finkle regularly directly assists communities with their design and evaluation of revitalization strategies, development financing and economic development programs. He has been helping communities grow for over 17 years and continues to be a leader within the economic development community as the challenges to economic development alter in the face of an expanding global economy.
He also serves as the Executive Director of the National Association of Installation Developers and supervises the Executive Director and activities of the Association of University Related Research Parks (AURRP).
Prior to joining CUED, Mr. Finkle served as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developments (HUD), Deputy Assistant Secretary of Community Planning and Development for Program Management. He supervised the Urban Development Action Grant Program, the Community Development Block Grant Program and the Housing Rehabilitation programs. He graduated with a B.S. in communications from Ohio University in Athens and did post-graduate work in business administration at Ohio State University.
