North Dakota stands ready to deliver power to business and industry, not only today, but far into the future. With eight power generation facilities, energy is abundant and reliable here. North Dakota ranks sixth in the nation in energy production per capita and exports 70 percent of its power, according to the Lignite Energy Council.
The state offers power rates well below the national average. And here’s something you won’t see every day: one of North Dakota’s major electric power providers has not increased its electric rates since 1986 with no foreseeable increases and recognized its first natural gas rate increase in eight years in 2003.
North Dakota ranks ninth among states for daily production of crude oil at 89,000 barrels from 116 wells.
